LUCI A FORMA DI CASA // HOMESHAPED LIGHTS

 

Torno a parlare di oggetti a forma di casa, argomento che mi piace un sacco! Ma lo sapete dal primo post che ho scritto al riguardo, dalla mia bacheca pinterest dedicata e perché ovunque vada sono sempre attirata da ogni oggetto con questa forma, e si vede nelle mie foto, nei miei post.

Oggi mi soffermo su Lanterne, Portacandele e Luci, piccole e grandi, in ceramica, metallo e vetro, con e senza led. Sono diventate di moda, soprattutto a Natale, quasi tutti i marchi ormai le propongono: Zara Home, Tognana, Ikea, Maisons du monde, EDG, Räder, solo per citarne alcuni.

I am talking about home-shaped objects again,a topic that I really like! But you know it from the first post I wrote about it, from my dedicated board on Pinterest and because wherever I go I am always attracted by every object with this shape, as you can see in my posts and pictures.

Today I will focus on Lanterns, Candle Holders and Lights, small and large, ceramic, metal and glass, with and without led. They have become popular, especially at Christmas. Almost all brands now offer them: Zara Home, Tognana, Ikea, Maisons du monde, EDG, Räder, just to name a few.

PANCA DA GIARDINO FAI DA TE // D.I.Y. GARDEN BENCH

 

Rieccomi qui, torno dopo molto tempo sul blog con un progetto fai da te fatto interamente con materiali di recupero che avevo già. Una panca da giardino in blocchi di cemento e legno!

L’ispirazione l’ho presa da Pinterest dove ci sono tantissimi progetti con i blocchi,  le motivazione principali sono il costo irrisorio e la resistenza della panca!

Questi blocchi in cemento giacevano dietro casa almeno dagli anni 70, i pali di legno erano avanzati da un altro progetto, le tavole vengono da un vecchio carro.

Ho comprato solo la vernice, la colla e l’impregnante con circa 15 euro. Trovate le istruzioni e le foto del processo nel prossimo post.

Oltre alla soddisfazione di creare la panca da me, mi fa felice l’idea che non dovrò preoccuparmi che arrugginisca (come con quelle di metallo), né che sia troppo piccola o debole per accogliere tre persone adulte come volevo, quando le parti in legno saranno rovinate non sarà un problema sostituirle.

Posso decorarla in modo differente cambiando accessori e colori: cuscini, tappeto, candele, lanterne, luci, con ombrellone, senza, con tenda, ….

Al momento ho riutilizzato un vecchio ombrellone blu per proteggere dagli aghi di pino chi sta seduto, ho aggiunto un tappeto da esterno preso da Casashop a 5 euro, riutilizzato 4 cuscini da sedia spaiati unendoli in una fodera fatta con una tenda Ikea avanzata.

After a long time I am back on the blog with a DIY project made entirely with recycled materials, that I already had. A garden bench made of concrete blocks and wood!

The inspiration comes from Pinterest, where there are lots of projects with blocks, my motivation is made of the derisory cost and the resistance of the bench!

These concrete blocks were behind my house from the 70s, the wooden poles remained from another project, the boards come from an old wagon.

I only bought the paint, the glue and the color for about 15 euros. You will find the instructions with pictures in the next post.

I’m satisfied because it’s a diy project and  I am happy I will not worry about  rust (as for a metal bench).

 It is enough large and sturdy to accommodate three adults and when the wooden parts will be ruined it will not be a problem to replace them.

I can decorate it differently changing accessories and colors: cushions, carpet, candles, lanterns, lights, with umbrella, without, with curtains....

Right now I reused an old blue beach umbrella (to protect me from pine needles), I added an outdoor carpet bought at Casashop for 5 euros, reused 4 unpaired chair cushions joining them in a lining made with an advanced Ikea curtain.

 In gennaio per il 2020 avevo scelto due parole:

                       bellezza e semplificazione.

Volevo circondarmi il più possibile di bellezza, sia delle cose che dello spirito, e allontanare le complicazioni della vita quotidiana, semplificare i rapporti, gli impegni, mantenere solo quelli per cui vale la pena.

Ora non so se quello che è successo ha a che fare con quella sensazione, quel desiderio. Ma in ogni caso questa quarantena ci costringe tutti drasticamente a semplificare, oltre le mie intenzioni ovviamente.

Ho scelto quindi di prendermi del tempo prima di scrivere, ho scelto di cercare la bellezza nelle piccole cose che faccio tutti i giorni in casa con la mia famiglia, nel tenermi in contatto virtuale con gli amici, nel godermi la mia casa e il mio giardino.

Comincio solo adesso a sentire che sta arrivando la primavera fuori, quindi le decorazioni stagionali sono solo all’inizio…

In January I’ve chosen for this 2020 two words:

                        beauty and simplification.

I just wanted to surround myself with beauty, of things and of spirit, and to limit the daily life complications.

I just wanted to simplify relationships, commitments, and to safe only the ones that really matter.

Now I don’t know if that feelings had something to do with all this thing that is happening. But in any case the quarantine forces all of us to simplify drastically, far beyond my originally intention.

I’ve chosen to take time before write, I’ve chosen to look for beauty in the small things I do every day at home with my family, in keeping in virtual contact with friends, in enjoying my home and my garden.

I’ve started only today to feel that spring is coming outside, so seasonal decorations are only at the beginning…

HGTV è arrivato in Italia! // HGTV has arrived in Italy!

Alcuni di voi lo avranno già notato:  è arrivato anche in Italia (finalmente) il canale HGTV!

Sul canale 56 in chiaro abbiamo Home and garden TV, canale americano interamente dedicato alle case e ai giardini che produce molti programmi  che mandava in onda Fineliving quando esisteva.

Fra questi “Casa su misura/Fixer Upper” di Chip e Joanna Gaines, che ritornano sabato alle 12.30!
.

Questa prima settimana di programmazione mettono in onda ogni giorno al massimo due programmi in molti episodi, ma presto la programmazione dovrebbe diventare più varia, date un occhiata qui, si può vedere anche in streaming qui.

Ho scoperto solo di recente che a Santa Maria di Sala in provincia di Venezia, quindi molto vicino a me, esiste l’azienda  EDG – Enzo De Gasperi, che è leader nel settore dei complementi d'arredo di design, decori natalizi, fiori artificiali, oggettistica, fragranze e candele.

Ad esempio quest’anno, è stata tra i fornitori e realizzatori delle decorazioni natalizie in centro a Treviso.

Recently I discovered that very near to me (in Santa Maria di Sala – Venice), there’s  EDG – Enzo De Gasperi, leader brand in interior decoration and design objects, Christmas decor,  faux flowers, home accessories, fragrances and candles.

This year is one of the suppliers for Treviso city centre Christmas decorations.

E’ nato da poco dalle ceneri del Modacenter di Trevignano un nuovo concetto di negozio, in un unico spazio: moda, casa e design, lifestyle e progettazione di interni.

Potevo resistere alla tentazione di farci un giretto?  NO

Infatti oggi vi mostro qualche immagine di ciò che ho visto.

C’è un grande reparto dedicata ai fashion brands più importanti che mi ha ricordato quando da bambina andavo al Modacenter con mia madre…  ma di questo non ho fatto foto.

.

Quello che vedrete è un assaggio del reparto mobili (dove c’è anche lo spazio per i consulenti)e degli accessori casa: Kartell, Smeg, EDG…. 

La parte dedicata al Natale era in allestimento ma mi è piaciuta!

Sono sicura che indovinerete quale pezzo vorrei che mi portasse Babbo Natale…..

There is a great space dedicated to the most important fashion brands, that reminds me of the times when I used to go to Modacenter with my mom…  but I’ve not taken photos of it.

What you will see it’s a little taste of the Furniture space (complete with design project corners) and of Home accessories: Kartell, Smeg, EDG…. 

The part dedicated to Christmas was under preparation but I like it!

MY AUTUMN SELECTION FROM IKEA

Anch’io come altri sono rimasta un po’ delusa dal catalogo Ikea 2020, lo confesso; però man a mano che escono le novità sul sito trovo elementi nelle nuove collezioni che mi entusiasmano: nel catalogo non sono state valorizzate. Colori che amo, linee pulite e semplici, materiali e forme che riconosco!

I must confess that, like many others, I didn’t feel inspired by new Ikea catalogue this year; but now that new items come on the site I like the new collections.  Colors I love, simple and clean lines, materials and shapes that I can recognize!

PICCOLE SCRIVANIE // SMALL DESKS

L’autunno è arrivato all’improvviso dalle mie parti! Da un giorno all’altro siamo passati dal caldo intenso oltre i 30 gradi ai  13 gradi la mattina, settembre è decisamente iniziato e domani cominciano le scuole!

I miei figli tornano alla loro routine e di conseguenza anch’io…. Il grande va in seconda media e il piccolo in quarta elementare, è arrivato anche per lui il momento di avere una scrivania tutta sua, così già dall’inverno scorso ho iniziato a pensare al suo angolo studio.

September has started and tomorrow kids will go back to school!

My sons go back to their daily routine and I will follow them…. The first one starts the second year of the middle school, and the second one his fourth year in the elementary school, the time has arrived to have his own desk, last winter I started to think to his new corner.

D.I.Y. LAMPSHADE WITH QUOTES

Uno dei vantaggi delle lampadine led è che non si scaldano, o meglio che si scaldano così poco da non essere potenziali fonti di incendio.

Questo mi ha dato un’idea: e se provassi a fare un paralume basic ma personalizzato?

Ho a casa una base per lampada comprata alla Sme (tipo questa di Ikea), alla quale inizialmente pensavo di abbinare un paralume in vetro come questo.

Led light bulbs have many plus, one is that they don’t become hot,  so don’t generate fires.

This has given an idea to me : what if I try to create a basic d.i.y. customized lampshade? 

I have a lamp base from Sme (similar to this one from Ikea), originally bought to match to a glass lampshade similar to this one.

HEXAGONAL and HONEYCOMB DECOR

Prendo spunto dal viaggio a Barcellona e dal mobile per il mio salotto per commentare un altro elemento che negli ultimi due anni vedo sempre più spesso: L’ESAGONO o NIDO D’APE, che può quindi entrare nella rubrica TRENDY DECOR PIECES.

Dalle piastrelle ai tappeti, dalle mensole agli specchi, dalle lampade ai mobili.

Starting from my trip to Barcelona and my d.i.y. living room unit I look around and realize that in the past 2 years HEXAGONAL and HONEYCOMB elements appeared everywhere. They can enter  the TRENDY DECOR PIECES column!

Qui abbiamo avuto qualche giorno di primavera anticipata e ora stiamo sopportando la pioggia. Pasqua è alle porte e qualche decorazione e nuova piantina sono arrivate proprio con il primo sole di primavera, che ora mi manca!

CLS CUSTOMIZE CONCRETE: oggetti decorativi in cemento // concrete decor items

Oggi resto in tema artigianato. L’anno scorso ad un mercatino ho conosciuto Camilla e Francesca(vedi post qui), due architetto che non hanno avuto paura di sporcarsi le mani, e hanno dato vita al progetto CLS. Che cos’è? Ve lo spiegano loro in questa intervista.

I keep talking about handicraft today. Last year at a little market I met Camilla and Francesca(post here), two architects not afraid to get their hands dirty, so they have started the CLS project. What’s that? They explain it all in this interview.

Presentatevi, chi siete?// Who are you?

Buongiorno! Siamo davvero felici di avere la possibilità di parlare di CLS e di noi.

Siamo Camilla e Francesca della provincia di Treviso, ci siamo conosciute ormai otto anni fa all’università.

Abbiamo studiato entrambe Architettura presso l’Università IUAV di Venezia, e abbiamo lavorato insieme a diversi progetti, condividendo idee, interessi e discussioni infinite.

Ci siamo laureate lo scorso anno, siamo rimaste buone amiche e continuiamo a condividere i nostri interessi.

Good morning! We are really happy to have the chance to talk about us.

We are Camilla and Francesca, both from Treviso district and we met each other at university, already 8 years ago.

We studied architecture in Venice and we worked together for many school projects, sharing ideas and interests but mostly never-ending struggles. We graduated last year and since then struggles are over, but we became good friends and we still like sharing our interests.

HOME DECOR SHOPS IN BARCELONA

Durante la mia visita a Barcellona, ho fatto un po’ di shopping:

tra i souvenirs potete vedere le scatole di latta con i monumenti, la piastrella azzurra di Gaudi, una sciarpa ricamata e un paio di altre cosette.

During my trip in Barcelona, a whole day was dedicated to go shopping: as souvenirs I’ve bought vintage metal boxes showing city monuments, the blue Gaudi tile, an embroidered scarf and some other things.

Camminando in ogni posto nuovo dove vado, cerco sempre le vetrine di arredamento, home decor e casalinghi…è più forte di me. Mi piace guardare tutto, anche negozi di brands esclusivi, ma la mia attenzione si concentra di più sulla categoria ACCESSIBILE. E in questa categoria ho visto 3 negozi interessanti:

CALMA HOUSE   brand di articoli tessili per la casa, con textures, colori e fantasie che mi hanno attratta. Mi sono dovuta limitare ad una bustina, ma avrei comprato plaid e cuscini !

MUY MUCHO brand di oggettistica per la casa che comprende anche prodotti di Maiko Home Deco. Simile ad altri brand diffusi anche da noi come assortimento, ma comunque invitante. Guardate il logo!

CERERIASUBIRA un antico negozio di candele del Barri Gotico. Una location stupenda e dei prodotti fatti a mano.

Purtroppo le mie foto di quest’ultima non sono riuscite bene, quelle che vedete qui vengono da google maps, mi perdoneranno gli autori spero.

Walking along the streets of a new place, I always look for shops of furniture, home decor, home accessories… I can’t resist. I like to observe all kind of these shops, exclusive or luxury brands too, but my attention is more drawn to the AFFORDABLE ones. Among these ones I’ve seen 3 interesting shops:

CALMA HOUSE:  a home textile articles brand; their textures, colors and patterns have attracted me immediately. I’ve bought only a little bag, but I wished to buy blankets and pillows !

MUY MUCHO: home decor and accessories brand, selling also Maiko Home Deco items. It is similar to other brands present in Italy, but tempting. Look at the logo!

CERERIA SUBIRA: an ancient candles shop in Barri Gotico. A wonderful location and handmade products.

Unfortunately the pictures I made are horrible, so the ones you see here come from google maps, I wish the authors will forgive me.

Il mese scorso sono stata qualche giorno a Barcellona, era la mia prima volta in Spagna.

Sapete che non sono una travel blogger ma amo i viaggi, questo poi era senza famiglia al seguito. Programmato per visitare, fare shopping e rilassarmi. Erano 5 anni che non mi allontanavo da casa senza marito e figli, e devo dire che ogni tanto ci vuole proprio.

Non vi parlerò di itinerari e monumenti, sono sicura che potete trovare chi sa farlo meglio di me.

Condivido le foto più significative per me da turista e homeaddicted.  Ho incontrato due negozi carini di marchi locali come Calma House e Muy Mucho, e ammirato i prodotti e la location di Cereria Subirà.  Di questi vi parlerò meglio nel prossimo post.

Last month I spend a few days in Barcelona, my first visit to Spain.

You know I’m not a travel blogger but I like to travel, this trip was without my family. Only time for me to explore, go shopping and relax! My last trip alone without my husband and my kids was dated 2015…every now and then I need to do it.

I will not tell you what to see, I’m sure you can find someone better than me for this. 
I only will share some pictures and my thoughts, as tourist and homeaddicted.  I’ve found two nice shops of home decor local brands Calma House and Muy Mucho, and I liked both products and location of Cereria Subirà.  I will tell you more about that in the next post.

L’impressione che mi sono fatta su Barcellona è di una città giovane: perché di giovani ne ho visti davvero tanti e perché è ancora oggi votata al modernismo. La qualità della vita è buona: si mangia bene, i servizi e la pulizia non mancano, negozi e divertimenti abbondano, il paesaggio va dalla collina al mare e soprattutto hanno la spiaggia in città!!! Cosa che invidio tantissimo.

Barcelona gives me the impression to be a young city: I’ve seen many young people and the city is still devoted to modernism. It has good life quality: it is clean, has good food, services, many shops, the movida, it goes from hills to the sea and most of all it has beaches!!!
