PANCA DA GIARDINO FAI DA TE // D.I.Y. GARDEN BENCH

 

Rieccomi qui, torno dopo molto tempo sul blog con un progetto fai da te fatto interamente con materiali di recupero che avevo già. Una panca da giardino in blocchi di cemento e legno!

L’ispirazione l’ho presa da Pinterest dove ci sono tantissimi progetti con i blocchi,  le motivazione principali sono il costo irrisorio e la resistenza della panca!

Questi blocchi in cemento giacevano dietro casa almeno dagli anni 70, i pali di legno erano avanzati da un altro progetto, le tavole vengono da un vecchio carro.

Ho comprato solo la vernice, la colla e l’impregnante con circa 15 euro. Trovate le istruzioni e le foto del processo nel prossimo post.

Oltre alla soddisfazione di creare la panca da me, mi fa felice l’idea che non dovrò preoccuparmi che arrugginisca (come con quelle di metallo), né che sia troppo piccola o debole per accogliere tre persone adulte come volevo, quando le parti in legno saranno rovinate non sarà un problema sostituirle.

Posso decorarla in modo differente cambiando accessori e colori: cuscini, tappeto, candele, lanterne, luci, con ombrellone, senza, con tenda, ….

Al momento ho riutilizzato un vecchio ombrellone blu per proteggere dagli aghi di pino chi sta seduto, ho aggiunto un tappeto da esterno preso da Casashop a 5 euro, riutilizzato 4 cuscini da sedia spaiati unendoli in una fodera fatta con una tenda Ikea avanzata.

After a long time I am back on the blog with a DIY project made entirely with recycled materials, that I already had. A garden bench made of concrete blocks and wood!

The inspiration comes from Pinterest, where there are lots of projects with blocks, my motivation is made of the derisory cost and the resistance of the bench!

These concrete blocks were behind my house from the 70s, the wooden poles remained from another project, the boards come from an old wagon.

I only bought the paint, the glue and the color for about 15 euros. You will find the instructions with pictures in the next post.

I’m satisfied because it’s a diy project and  I am happy I will not worry about  rust (as for a metal bench).

 It is enough large and sturdy to accommodate three adults and when the wooden parts will be ruined it will not be a problem to replace them.

I can decorate it differently changing accessories and colors: cushions, carpet, candles, lanterns, lights, with umbrella, without, with curtains....

Right now I reused an old blue beach umbrella (to protect me from pine needles), I added an outdoor carpet bought at Casashop for 5 euros, reused 4 unpaired chair cushions joining them in a lining made with an advanced Ikea curtain.

EDG – Enzo De Gasperi Interior Decoration

Ho scoperto solo di recente che a Santa Maria di Sala in provincia di Venezia, quindi molto vicino a me, esiste l’azienda  EDG – Enzo De Gasperi, che è leader nel settore dei complementi d'arredo di design, decori natalizi, fiori artificiali, oggettistica, fragranze e candele.

Ad esempio quest’anno, è stata tra i fornitori e realizzatori delle decorazioni natalizie in centro a Treviso.

Recently I discovered that very near to me (in Santa Maria di Sala – Venice), there’s  EDG – Enzo De Gasperi, leader brand in interior decoration and design objects, Christmas decor,  faux flowers, home accessories, fragrances and candles.

This year is one of the suppliers for Treviso city centre Christmas decorations.

D.I.Y. LAMPSHADE WITH QUOTES

Uno dei vantaggi delle lampadine led è che non si scaldano, o meglio che si scaldano così poco da non essere potenziali fonti di incendio.

Questo mi ha dato un’idea: e se provassi a fare un paralume basic ma personalizzato?

Ho a casa una base per lampada comprata alla Sme (tipo questa di Ikea), alla quale inizialmente pensavo di abbinare un paralume in vetro come questo.

Led light bulbs have many plus, one is that they don’t become hot,  so don’t generate fires.

This has given an idea to me : what if I try to create a basic d.i.y. customized lampshade? 

I have a lamp base from Sme (similar to this one from Ikea), originally bought to match to a glass lampshade similar to this one.

Natale 2018 // Christmas 2018

Quest’anno sto aspettando Natale con calma e relax.
Forse avrete notato che non ho scritto il solito post con i suggerimenti sui regali, io stessa ho scelto di farne meno, qualcosa fatto a mano, o esperienze.

.

In famiglia abbiamo ad esempio deciso di non comprare oggetti ma piuttosto uscire a pranzo tutti insieme.

Nel decorare casa ho sfruttato quello che ho già, dispongo di abbastanza addobbi per variare ogni anno ruotandoli o combinandoli in modo differente.

.

In fondo quello che amo di più sono le luci: quell’ora del pomeriggio in cui arriva il buio e strade e case si illuminano mi piace davvero, è come vivere in una favola, torno un po’ bambina.

This year I’m waiting for Christmas with a calm and relaxed attitude.  Maybe you have noticed that I wrote no posts on suggested gifts, I’ve chosen to buy less objects, give something handmade, or experiences.

RI-USO N°7: lampade dal salotto alla camera // REPURPOSE No 7: lamps from the living room to the bedroom

Alcune volte la soluzione più facile e efficace sta davanti ai nostri occhi ma non la vediamo. In questo caso la mia voglia di provare cose nuove, mi nascondeva l idea che unisce efficacia e riutilizzo di ciò che già ho in casa, a me tanto caro. 

Per la mia camera da letto alla fine (vedi related posts) ho scelto di eliminare le luci a parete a favore di due lampade che avevo in salotto che si abbinano benissimo allo stile del letto e allo spazio: una da tavolo e una piantana, che in salotto sarebbero state comunque sostituite.

Sometimes the best solution is in front of us and we don’t see it. Maybe my desire to try something new was hiding the right idea, the one that solves the problem and gives the opportunity to me to use something that I already have in a different way.

In my master bedroom I have finally (see related posts) decided to remove the wall lamps and to add a table lamp and a floor lamp with shape and style matching well the bed and furniture; those two ones come from my living room, and will have to be replaced anyway.

ILLUMINAZIONE PER LA CAMERA // BEDROOM LIGHTING SYSTEM

E’ mia abitudine avere moltissime idee in fatto di progetti di rinnovamento e decorazione, solo una piccola parte si realizzano alla fine. E per ogni questione passano mesi, se non anni, in cui elaboro varianti all’infinito dello stesso progetto. Un esempio è il mobile del salotto, che ogni tanto vi menziono; un altro il restyling dell’illuminazione della camera matrimoniale.

Come dicevo in questo post precedente sull’argomento LUCI SUL COMODINO, spostando il letto la posizione delle appliques va rivista, però per tutta una serie di motivi dobbiamo evitare di rompere il muro, quindi i fili e le prese/interruttori resteranno dove sono, e non mi piacciono le canaline per i cavi a vista.

Abbiamo tentato la strada delle lampade da lettura orientabili…..ma questa soluzione non ci soddisfa per lo stile (al di là del colore che poteva essere anche bianco o nero) sono troppo moderne per il contesto, e non le orientiamo mai in modi diversi.

LUCI ESTERNE E PRESEPE IN LEGNO FAI DA TE // GARDEN LIGHTS AND WOOD D.I.Y. NATIVITY

Come promesso, ecco le foto delle mie decorazioni esterne: luci e Presepe in giardino.

Le luci a forma di albero e la renna sono opera di mio marito e dei nostri figli, il presepe è un lavoro in legno fatto al traforo dal mio ometto di 10 anni.

.

In coda al post vedrete le foto dei passaggi e la lista materiale: ha riportato il disegno con la carta carbone, intagliato e levigato, dipinto con vernice all’acqua bianca.

.

Per sorreggere le figure le abbiamo fissate a dei supporti ad L di ferro, aggiunta la ghirlanda verde e la paglia è bastato appendere la stella e mettere delle luci. Et voilà! Semplice ma di effetto siamo tutti soddisfatti!

The tree and reindeer of lights are a job of my husband and our sons.

The Nativity (we call it PRESEPE) is a wood D.I.Y project of my 10 years old son, made with his fretsaw.

.

At the end of this post you see the project pictures and material list: he has copied the drawing, cut and sanded, painted with white water color.

.

To support the figures we have fixed them on iron L-shaped pieces, once we have added the green wreath, some straw, hanged the star and put some lights the job was done. Simple but charming, we are all very happy!

Settimo giorno dell’Avvento! Voi decorate la porta di ingresso?

Io sì!  Quest’anno il più grande dei miei figli si sta impegnando con il traforo, mi ha fatto questa bella stella, alla fine del post potete vedere le foto dei passaggi del suo lavoro e la lista del materiale.

Io mi sono regalata i tappetini e ho aggiunto un po’ di luce, che ne dite?

Non volevo strafare e mantenere l’abbinamento bianco-rosso, l’effetto finale mi piace, specialmente la sera.

Prossimi post sulle luci del giardino e un altro progetto fai-da-te realizzato con mio figlio: il presepe di legno!

On the 7^th day of Christmas!  Do you decor your front door?

I’ve done it! This year my 10 years old son is working a lot with his fretsaw, he made this wonderful star for me, at the end of this post you can see the project pictures and material list.

I bought new carpet and mat and added some lights, do you like it?

I just wanted to use the red-white combination and keep it simple, I like the final effect especially in the dark.

Cosa vi serve per la stella:

tavoletta di compensato 30x30cm spessore 0.6cm, disegno (io l’ho trovato in rete), carta carbone, seghetto o traforo, carta vetrata, trapano, pennello, vernice all’acqua, pennarello indelebile dorato, righello, un bottone o simile, nastro.

What you need to do the star:

piece of plywood 30x30cm thickness 0.6cm, pattern (I found it online), copying paper, fretsaw, sand paper, drill, paint brush, water paint, gold color magic marker, ruler, a knob or similar, ribbon.

L’Avvento è cominciato! Mancano 21 giorni a Natale!! Ovviamente mi sto concentrando sulle decorazioni Natalizie, quest’anno punto sulla combinazione bianco-rosso e un pochino di blu, e sulle luci.

Ecco come si presenta il soggiorno appena varcate la soglia di casa mia!!  Notare che l’albero l’ha montato posizionato e decorato mio figlio, che a 7 anni, condivide già la mia passione per l’homedecor.

HOME TOUR N°2

Secondo appuntamento con la rubrica Home Tours!

Questa volta vi mostro la casa di M. e G. dove vivono con i loro 3 figli: è l’attico di un palazzo non lontano dalle nostre colline del prosecco, composto da cucina, tre camere, due bagni e un favoloso soggiorno/salotto con grandi vetrate sulla terrazza panoramica.

La particolarità di questa casa è che la stanza che ospita il salotto è stata interamente ricavata da un ampliamento sulla terrazza!  

La pianta originale infatti prevedeva una terrazza grande, accessibile dalla attuale zona pranzo, che però era poco sfruttata dai proprietari. Con l’arrivo del terzo figlio hanno approfittato della possibilità di ampliamento. E il risultato è davvero ben riuscito.

.

Questa casa gode di una vista meravigliosa, apprezzabile sia fuori sulla terrazza, sia stando dentro comodamente seduti sul divano, ma è molto più di questo. Gli spazi sono ben studiati ed è arredata con buon gusto; ci sono elementi creati appositamente da mani esperte, come la parete del caminetto e i mobili su misura, ci sono complementi d’arredo di design come i lampadari “Le Pupette” di Karman e l’originale rivestimento del soffitto del salotto, e ci sono oggetti di famiglia come tappeti e quadri che completano benissimo l’ambiente. L’atmosfera è accogliente e luminosa, non troppo moderna e nemmeno troppo classica, colori chiari scaldati dalla giusta dose di legno.

A me piace molto! Tutto questo è frutto senza dubbio della personalità dei padroni di casa ma anche di un famoso studio di progettazione e fornitura di Conegliano che li ha seguiti in tutte le fasi dei lavori; non vi svelo il nome ma vi anticipo che prossimamente approfondirò con loro come si è sviluppato questo progetto, tornate a trovarmi!

Come vedrete le foto sono perfettamente in linea con la filosofia della rubrica “case vere e vissute”, non un impersonale set fotografico. Anche se devo dire che nonostante la presenza di tre bambini piccoli è una casa davvero ordinata!

Second Home Tour post!

This time I show you M. and G.’s home, where they live together with their three children: it is an attic flat, not far from our Prosecco hills, composed by kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a big fabulous dining/living room with glass windows on the panoramic terrace.

This house peculiarity is that the living room is completely inside a house extension, built on the terrace!  The original plant had a very big terrace accessible from the dining room, but the owners did not use it. Therefore, they decided to extend the dining/living room, before the arrival of baby n°3. The result is stunning.

.

This house has a beautiful view over the hills, enjoyable both from the terrace and from the soft couch in the living room, but it is much more than this.

The space design is well done and it is tastefully decorated: there are original elements such as the hand-built fireplace wall and custom-made furniture; there are design decorative accessories such as “Le Pupette” Karman chandeliers and the particular ceiling cladding in the living room; there are family objects such as carpets and paintings that complete well the space. The atmosphere is cozy and luminous, not too modern nor too classic, bright colours warmed by the right amount of wood. I like it very much!

This result comes from the combination of owners’ taste and help of a famous Design Studio from Conegliano, who has followed all project phases; soon I will reveal its name because I will have the opportunity to share with you how this project has born and developed, come back to check it!

Notice that the following pictures reflect my Home Tours philosophy “real and lived homes”, not an unpersonal shooting set. However, I must say that this home is very tidy, although three little children live there!

CHRISTMAS VIGNETTE

Cominciamo con le Decorazioni Natalizie partendo da una "scenetta" che passa dagli angeli, alle lanterne, al presepe minimale. 

Sotto la scala della mia sala da pranzo c’è uno spazio che di solito è pieno dei giocattoli dei miei bambini, ma a Natale volevo poter esporre degli oggetti a cui tengo e ospitare anche le statuine della natività in modo un po’ diverso dalla tradizione. Prossimo passo:  l’Albero.

Let’s start with the Christmas Decoration with a vignette that includes angels, lanterns and a minimal “Presepe”.
Under the stairs in my dining room there’s a space usually full of my kids’ toys, but for Christmas I want it to show some of my favorite objects and the Nativity statues in an original way. Next step:  the Tree.

IKEA NEW FAVOURITES

Forse vi sarete chiesti come mai non abbia commentato l’uscita del catalogo Ikea 2018 a settembre…naturalmente l’ho visto, mi è piaciuto.

Penso che, anno dopo anno, continui ad assomigliare sempre più ad una rivista più che ad un catalogo.

Quindi per vedere nel dettaglio le novità, io preferisco cercare direttamente nelle sezioni del sito, per categoria.

Di seguito vi mostro le novità che preferisco: il pensiero ricorrente è stato “finalmente ci hanno pensato!”….

….a farmi delle vetrinette carine….

….alla soluzione semplice dei letti impilabili….

….a luci per bimbi con queste forme e questi colori…

….ad accogliere la tendenza di colore e texture nel tessile che imperversa ovunque…

I’ve not talked about the Ikea Catalogue 2018….strange, you may think…  I have it, I like it.  But I think that, year after year, it seems more a magazine than a catalogue.

So I prefer to search through categories on Ikea.com and see all new items.

Here follow my favourite ones: my leitmotiv is “at last they think about it!”…
