ORDERGASM: unpredictable sensation of pleasure caused by the sight of perfectly ordered spaces

Chissà se qualcuno si è accorto che è più di un mese che non posto niente sul blog… a volte ho la sensazione di no, a volte di sì. Comunque sia, io non ne sono felice, scrivere è diventata una necessità e ultimamente per diversi motivi non riesco a trovare il tempo di farlo quanto e come vorrei, le idee non mi mancano ma il tempo sì.  Perché scrivere è solo una parte del lavoro, la più terapeutica ma non l’unica, c’è la traduzione, le foto, la grafica, cose che amo fare ma che richiedono tempo.

Le persone che mi leggono non amano scrivere, lo so, ma oggi un po’ di incoraggiamento non guasterebbe.

Voi cosa fate quando siete preoccupati, nervosi o arrabbiati?

Io se sono in macchina sparo del rock a palla e canto e urlo a squarciagola.

Se sono a casa mi metto a riorganizzare armadi scaffali e metto in ordine.

NEWS DALLE CAMERETTE 2/2 // KIDS BEDROOMS NEWS 2/2

A proposito dei cambiamenti nelle camere dei bambini: per preparare spazio alla futura scrivania del più piccolo, il baule doveva trovare un'altra collocazione. E sapete dov’è finito? Nell’altra camera, quella più grande del primogenito. Non avrei potuto metterlo in nessun’altra stanza, è piuttosto grande, e poi dentro ci sono vestiti per i bambini che aspettano l’età giusta per essere utilizzati. E un giorno spero servirà per i giocattoli.

Per farlo stare avevo ipotizzato diverse soluzioni. La più semplice ha risolto il problema: il baule ha sostituito la libreria, diventando una sorta di comodino-piano di appoggio; e girando la libreria expedit in verticale ho potuto posizionarla vicino alla scrivania sull’altro lato della stanza. Devo dire che libreria e scrivania vicine hanno più senso, a settembre quando il grande andrà alle medie le scatole e i giochi lasceranno spazio a nuovi libri e quaderni.

About the modifications to both kids bedrooms: to create space for the upcoming desk of my second son, the trunk had to go somewhere else. Where?

It is now in my oldest son’s room; the trunk is too big for any other space in my home, moreover it contains kids clothes waiting to be used at the right age. Maybe someday it will be full of toys.

I found more than one solution. The simplest one solves the problem: the trunk replaces the bookshelf and serves as nightstand and support surface; the expedit bookshelf, turned vertical, goes near the desk on the other side of the room. The bookshelf near the desk makes more sense, next September my son will go to middle school, so boxes and toys will be replaced with new books.

Più di un mese che non pubblico….. sto vivendo un periodo intenso sotto tutti i punti di vista….ho poco tempo e sono stanca….ma voglia e idee non mi mancano!

Ad esempio, qualche cambiamento nelle camere dei bambini: è quasi arrivato il momento che anche il più piccolo abbia la sua scrivania in camera, sulla scelta del modello dedicherò un post a parte, perché lo spazio a disposizione impone esigenze specifiche, ma prima di comprare la scrivania era necessario liberare lo spazio che era occupato dal baule!

More than a month from my last post….during this period I have to deal with too many things….I’ve few time and feel tired ….but I still have many ideas!
E.g. I’ve made some modifications to both kids bedrooms: it’s time for my second son to have his own desk, since his room requires a particular model, I will tell you about the desk in another post, but before buying the desk it is necessary to create the space in the bedroom taking away the trunk!

SCAFFALE VITTSJO PER LO STUDIO // Vittsjo shelf unit for home office

Fra le ultime novità in casa mia c’è lo scaffale nuovo per lo studio: Vittsjö di Ikea.

Lo studio si trova al secondo piano, si affaccia su salotto e soppalco, è la stanza dove teniamo il pc e la stampante, dove conserviamo i libri i documenti, dove sono esposte foto targhe trofei e ricordi della passione di mio marito (trattori d’epoca) e dove conservo le mie amate riviste di arredamento. Proprio queste erano prima stipate in una piccola libreria Billy (quella che ora è in camera di mio figlio, vedi post Riuso n° 3).

Avevo bisogno di più capienza e più profondità, per appoggiare sopra il mobile anche la stampante e la macchina da scrivere d’epoca del nonno (1961).

Poi volevo che visivamente il mobile fosse leggero e chiaro, dato che questo è l’angolo più buio della stanza; durante la mia ultima visita all’Ikea lo scaffale Vittsjö mi è parso il più adatto allo scopo, e sono soddisfatta del risultato. Giudicate voi!

New shelf unit for my home office: Vittsjö from Ikea.

Our home office is on the second floor, a separate room near the living room. It’s the place for desktop pc, printer, bookcases, documents, pictures, labels, trophies and memories of my husband’s passion (old tractors) and for my decorating and interior design magazines. In particular those ones were stored in a little Billy bookshelf (the one now used in my son’s room, see post Repurpose no. 3).

I was in need of more space and more depth, to put on this shelf the printer and my Grandpa’s old typewriter from 1961.

I wished for a light and bright shelf, since this is the darkest corner of the room; during my last visit to Ikea I found that the Vittsjö shelf unit could be the right one, I’m very happy with the result. What do you think?

RI-USO N°3: libreria e comodino // REPURPOSE No 3: bookshelf and nightstand

Durante le vacanze ho fatto una serie di piccoli cambiamenti in casa, adattando e cambiando la posizione e la destinazione d’uso di alcuni mobili.  Resto fedele alla mia filosofia del RIUSO che strizza l’occhio al risparmio, senza rinunciare a rinnovare casa per assecondare le esigenze sempre in evoluzione della famiglia.

La libreria e la cassettiera dello studio sono passate alla camera di uno dei miei figli, il numero dei suoi libri cresce con lui!

La panca dalla sua camera è passata in bagno, nuovi arrivi hanno aggiornato lo studio e la camera dell’altro figlio, e un portabottiglie in ferro è passato dal bagno (dove faceva da appendiabiti/portasciugamano) all’esterno dove diventerà……stop, andiamo con ordine oggi vi mostro come si presenta la camera di mio figlio, nei prossimi post il resto della storia…..

During my August holiday I made some home improvements: I’ve changed the position and use of some pieces of furniture around the rooms. I stay true to my idea of REPURPOSE what I already have, to save money but to try to satisfy new needs of my family.

So… bookshelf and little chest of drawers have come from studio to my son’s bedroom, he and his books are growing!

The bench has gone from the bedroom to the bathroom, new pieces update the studio and the other son’s bedroom, an iron bottle rack has gone from the bathroom (here was used as cloth hanger) to the garden, where it will become……stop, let’s explain step by step starting from my second son’s bedroom, in the next posts the rest of this story…..

RI-USO N° 1: cameretta // REPURPOSE No 1: bedroom furniture

Oggi parlo di ri-uso, un argomento a me molto caro. Che si parli di un mobile o di un oggetto più piccolo mi è sempre stato difficile buttare via senza prima aver almeno provato a trovare una seconda vita alle cose. Questo per due motivi: primo tendo a dare un valore affettivo agli oggetti, secondo odio lo spreco!

Today I’m talking about repurpose, a topic very dear to me. Whether it’s a piece of furniture or a smaller object, it’s always been hard for me to throw it away without at least trying to find a second life for things. This is for two reasons: first I tend to give an emotional value to objects, second I hate waste!
