HEXAGONAL and HONEYCOMB DECOR

Prendo spunto dal viaggio a Barcellona e dal mobile per il mio salotto per commentare un altro elemento che negli ultimi due anni vedo sempre più spesso: L’ESAGONO o NIDO D’APE, che può quindi entrare nella rubrica TRENDY DECOR PIECES.

Dalle piastrelle ai tappeti, dalle mensole agli specchi, dalle lampade ai mobili.

Starting from my trip to Barcelona and my d.i.y. living room unit I look around and realize that in the past 2 years HEXAGONAL and HONEYCOMB elements appeared everywhere. They can enter  the TRENDY DECOR PIECES column!

From tiles to carpets, from shelves to mirrors, from lamps to furniture.

Oggi parlo del POUF POGGIAPIEDI RIVESTITO IN MAGLIA. Mi fa pensare alle sere autunnali sul divano.

Vi piace?  E' comodo, colorato e multiuso. Ci sono davvero diverse possibilità, in funzione delle misure può essere anche tavolino o semplice decorazione. Ecco una piccola carrellata di quelli più abbordabili!

Today let's focus on TRICOT POUF. It makes me think about autumn evenings on the couch.

Do you like it?  It's comfortable, colourful, and available in different sizes. It can be used to rest your feet, as coffee table or as decor item. Here below a little gallery of the most affordable ones!

BACHECA CON LETTERE // LETTER BOARD

Uno degli oggetti decor che più vedo in giro ultimamente sono le bacheche con le lettere.

Non ho potuto resistere e anch'io ne ho comprata una, la mia è di Flying Tiger e l'ho pagata meno di 10 Euro.

Però ce ne sono molti tipi diversi: in plastica, feltro, legno, con incastro a righe, a fori, da appendere o appoggiare, colorate, multiforma... e anche lettere e numeri possono avere diversi font e formati. Qui sotto vi indico quelle che mi sono piaciute di più in rete.

Esistono anche tutorial su come farsene una in casa, con una cornice, degli spiedini di legno, e della stoffa; le lettere le trovate in vendita anche da sole, quindi se siete più volenterosi di me fatemi sapere come riesce il vostro fai-da-te!!

Io l'ho posizionata sulla cassettiera del corridoio, e credo cambierò la frase a seconda di stagioni e umore.

One of most trendy decor items in this moment is the Letter Board.

I've bought mine at Flying Tiger with less than 10 Euros.

But there are so many possible models: made of plastic, wood, felt, with lines or holes, to be hanged or with support, every color, many forms...even the letters and numbers can have different fonts and sizes. Here below you can see the ones I prefer on line.

There are also d.i.y. tutorial to create it with a frame, some sticks and fabric; letters and numbers are sold separately, if you try to make one, please show me!

Where would you put your letter board? What will you write?

I've put mine on the drawers chest in the hallway, and I will change the quote depending on seasons and feelings.

CESTINO ESTENDIBILE // EXTENSIBLE BASKET

Secondo post sugli articoli d’arredamento di moda che si ripetono nei cataloghi dei brands più comuni. Forse ne farò una serie vera e propria, qui trovate il primo.

Oggi menziono un oggetto che alla prima occhiata non mi ha subito catturata, forse perché non ne avevo capito la duplice forma, ma poi mi ha convinta.

Il cestino estendibile, o come molto lo chiamano tailandese.

Nella versione base più semplice può essere chiuso e sembrare quasi una ciotola, oppure aperto e usato come contenitore, borsa, coprivaso, …

Ma soprattutto molti brands lo propongono in più misure e si presta a decorazioni varie: con ricami, pom-pom, nappine e dipinto!

.

Onestamente lo vedo bene come base per un fai-da-te, anche perché il più economico costa meno di 10 euro, e le versioni decorate costano fino a 4 volte di più!

Let’s talk about the extensible rattan basket, also called Thai-basket.

The simplest version can be closed, like a bowl; or can be open and used as storage, bag, plant pot,….

Many brands offer various sizes and it can be decorated with embroidery, pom-pom, tassels or painted!

I consider it a good item for do-it-yourself projects, the cheapest one costs less than 10 Euros, and the decorated versions can reach 4 times this price!

TAVOLINO CONTENITORE //BASKET COFFEE TABLE

Vi capita mai di notare un articolo d’arredamento che vi piace, e di ritrovarlo in versioni simili nei cataloghi o negozi di diversi brand ?  Ogni tanto alcuni oggetti diventano (o tornano) di moda e allora ogni brand ne fa una sua versione, magari in diverse misure e colori.

.

E’ quello che  mi è successo con il tavolino/cesto contenitore con vassoio. Ammetto che non so chi sia stata il primo a inventare questo oggetto, anzi se qualcuno di voi vuole colmare questa lacuna lo faccia pure nei commenti, per favore. Comunque sia, al primo sguardo mi è piaciuto, e ho pian piano notato le diverse versioni: tondo, squadrato, geometrico, chiuso dal vassoio o con aperture che ne consentono l’accesso anche senza togliere il vassoio.

.

Sta bene in salotto, in camera, in giardino, ci vedo bene dentro: cuscini e plaid per il divano, giornali, giochi, gomitoli e ferri…. Carino nei colori pastello, classico in bianco o nero, lussuoso in versione oro!

.

Ecco un carrellata di quelli più visti ultimamente, e quasi tutti costano meno di 60 euro, eccezion fatta per la versione luxury di Zara Home. Ovviamente ci sono versioni anche più luxury, ma dato che sono fuori dalla mia portata mi fermo qui.

Did you ever look at a piece of furniture and say “I like it”, and then you see it in different brands shops? Some items become very popular and every brand starts to sell it in many sizes and colors.

This is what happened to me with the coffee table/basket with removable tray. I admit that I don’t know who has been the first to design this item; if someone knows please write it in the comments. Anyway I love it at first sight, and then I found it everywhere: rounded, squared, geometric, closed with tray, or open to use without remove the tray.

.

It is cool in a living room, bedroom or garden; you can put inside it pillows and  blankets for the sofa, magazines, toys, knitting set…… Pretty in pastel, classic in black or white, luxury in gold!

.

Below follow some examples, all under 60 Euros, except for the luxury version of Zara Home. Obviously there are many other luxury versions, but all out of reach, for me!
