Torno a scrivere dopo molto tempo, poiché il blog è il mio posto felice non parlerò dei motivi che mi tengono lontana dal blogging. Ma provo a reagire parlando di ciò che mi piace.

Come vi dicevo a causa di un problema non risolto nel restauro di 20 anni fa, le piastrelle della mia cucina non aderivano al muro correttamente, hanno resistito in questa condizione in cui sembravano a posto per molto tempo. L’hanno scorso hanno cominciato a staccarsi, quindi abbiamo dovuto prendere una decisione. E’ stato necessario sostituirle tutte con la sola esclusione di quelle dietro i mobili bassi.

Non ero proprio entusiasta: le piastrelle esistenti mi piacevano ancora, cambiarle ha comportato smontare tutta la parte alta della cucina (quindi ho dovuto svuotare tutto), ho dovuto coinvolgere montatori di mobili, impresa edile e pittore, e ovviamente non è stato gratis.

E’ stato un tour de force di 5 giorni, con tempi coordinati: mercoledì svuotamento e smontaggio pensili, mensole e cappa, giovedì e venerdì demolizione piastrelle e fondo, rispristino del fondo e posa nuove piastrelle, sabato pittore, domenica rimontaggio mobili e riempimento/sistemazione.

As I was saying, because of a problem not solved in the restoration of 20 years ago, the tiles in my kitchen did not adhere to the wall properly, they resisted in this condition, in which they seemed to be in place, for a long time. They started breaking apart last year, so we had to make a decision. It was necessary to replace them all with the sole exclusion of those behind the low furniture.

I wasn’t really enthusiastic: I still liked the existing tiles, changing them meant dismantling the entire upper part of the kitchen (so I had to empty everything), I had to involve furniture fitters, construction company and painter, and of course it wasn’t free.

It was a 5-day tour de force, with coordinated times: Wednesday emptying and dismantling wall units, shelves and hood, Thursday and Friday demolition tiles and bottom, restoring the bottom and laying new tiles, Saturday painter, Sunday furniture replacement and filling/accommodation.

L’unica parte divertente è stata scegliere le piastrelle e rinnovare un po’ la mia cucina. Qualche nuovo accessorio e nuove tende.

Nel post di aprile: ero indecisa fra piastrelle esagonali e rettangolari.

Le esagonali, che piacevano alla maggioranza di voi, si sono rivelate più costose ma soprattutto non ho trovato la dimensione e la finitura che volevo. Le rettangolari ora vanno abbastanza di moda, quindi c’è vasta scelta di misure, finiture e prezzi.

Io ho scelto la linea Chelsea di www.iperceramica.it colori Milk e Avio, con posa impilata.

Sono molto soddisfatta, l’effetto mi piace: la forma rettangolare dilata visivamente lo spazio, e si abbina alla struttura del mobile, la superficie leggermente ondulata ma lucida riflette la luce, i bordi irregolari danno un tocco vintage. In corrispondenza delle due zone avanzate e ribassate del piano di marmo/mobile, ci sono le fasce blu avio che sostituiscono la greca in cotto precedente, richiamano gli oggetti e gli accessori nei toni del blu e azzurro che in parte già avevo e danno un tocco fresco e colorato.
La pittura bianca come sempre rinnova, e ringiovanisce ogni spazio.

C’è un particolare simpatico sulle piastrelle: Iperceramica non aveva nessuna foto di applicazioni di queste è piastrelle in una cucina, solo bagni. Quindi la mia è quantomeno originale!

The only fun part was choosing the tiles and renovating my kitchen a bit. Some new accessories and new curtains.

In the April post I was undecided between hexagonal and rectangular tiles.

The hexagonals, which most of you liked, were more expensive but above all I did not find the size and finish I wanted. The rectangular ones are now quite fashionable, so there is a wide choice of sizes, finishes and prices.

I chose the Chelsea line of www.iperceramica.it colors Milk and Avio, with stacked pose.

I am very satisfied, I like the effect: the rectangular shape seams to enlarge the space, and it matches the structure of the furniture, the surface slightly wavy but shiny reflects the light, the irregular edges give a vintage touch. In correspondence with the two advanced and lowered areas of the marble top/furniture, there are the blue bands that replace the previous terracotta squared decoration. That colorful touch recalls the objects and accessories in shades of blue that I already had and give a fresh look.

White painting as always makes every space feel new.

There is a nice detail about the tiles: Iperceramica had no photos of applications of these tiles in a kitchen, only bathrooms. So mine is at least original!

Ho fatto i complimenti ai posatori, non solo per aver trattato la superfice sottostante in modo che il problema non si ripeta (spero!) ma perché nella demolizione sono riusciti a salvare senza danni l’alzata di marmo del piano della cucina, se avessi dovuto sostituirlo per me sarebbe stato un pugno in un occhio, dato che è impossibile trovare in una pietra naturale come il Trani un pezzo identico all’altro, specialmente a distanza di tempo. Mi è già successo con il battiscopa della scale esterna..

I complimented the installers, for the wall surface treatment that should avoid problems (I hope!) and because in the demolition they managed to save without damage the marble elevation of the kitchen top, If I had to replace it it would have been a fist in the eye, since it is impossible to find in a natural stone like the Trani a piece identical to the other, especially after a long time. It’s happened to me before with the skirting board on the outside stairs…
