Cosa non deve mancare in una lavanderia?

Oltre l’ovvia lavatrice e un lavandino, intendo. E’ quella stanza jolly dove puoi aggiungere diverse funzioni di servizio, quindi non esiste una risposta univoca.

Come organizzarla?

Vi spiego cosa ho voluto io nella mia e come l’ho organizzata. Potreste trovare qualche spunto per la vostra.

Quando abbiamo ristrutturato la nostra casa ho voluto fortissimamente una lavanderia, dicevo “piccola ma la voglio”.

What is absolutely necessary in a laundry?

Besides the obvious washing machine and a sink, I mean. It’s a room that can satisfy different needs, so there’s not an unique answer.

How to organize it?

I’ll explain what I wanted for my laundry and how I planned it. Maybe you can some inspiration.

When we renovated our house I strongly wanted a laundry, I said "small but I want it".

Dopo tanti anni passati con un unico bagno comprensivo di lavatrice e filo per stendere sopra la vasca da bagno, sapevo che ci vuole uno spazio separato dal bagno. La mia misura 2x2 metri, e ci stanno: lavatrice, asciugatrice, congelatore verticale, scarpiera grande chiusa e scarpiera piccola aperta, lavello con mobile e tavola lavatoio, scaffale dei detersivi e cesta del bucato, stendibiancheria a muro, 3 appendiabiti e mensole varie per sfruttare lo spazio in altezza.

After many years spent with a single bathroom including a washing machine and only a wire to lay over the bathtub, I knew I wanted a separate space. Mine is 2x2 meters, and there are: washing machine, dryer, vertical freezer, large closed shoe rack and small open shoe rack, sink with cabinet, detergent shelf and laundry basket, wall mounted drying rack,  3 hangers and various shelves, to use all room height.

L’asciugatrice ce l’ho solo da qualche anno, ma non potrei più star senza, lo stendibiancheria a muro lo uso per quei capi che non metto nell’asciugatrice.

Lo scaffale Hyllis di Ikea è perfetto per tenere a portata di mano i detersivi e ospita la cesta del bucato. Il congelatore verticale non avrebbe potuto stare in nessun altra stanza, e ci tengo sopra vaschette, secchi e ceste.

La scarpiera grande (Colavena come il lavello) era assolutamente indispensabile con un marito col 45 di piede e due figli che lo stanno raggiungendo in fretta. Sopra la scarpiera tengo due scatole con le calzature del figlio maggiore che conservo finchè il minore non arriva alla taglia giusta. La scarpiera piccola invece ospita le scarpe che stiamo usando, è qui che le riponiamo al rientro a casa, per scambiarle con le pantofole. Per come la vedo io le scarpe vanno assolutamente tenute tutte insieme e in un ambiente dove ci sia anche una finestra.

Sulle mensole più in alto tengo le cose che servono di rado come i sacchetti dell’aspirapolvere, la cera per pavimenti o più in alto ancora la scatola dei pezzi di ricambio vari di mobili e elettrodomestici.

Tre punti appendiabiti sono poi molto utili per mio marito che usa la lavanderia anche come spogliatoio per gli abiti da lavoro.

Posso darvi qualche suggerimento specifico:

• Tenete un contenitore con il detersivo in polvere vicino alla lavatrice: io l’ho messo in quel cestino di plastica appeso alla parete sopra all’interruttore
• Appendete sopra al lavandino un porta oggetti per stracci e spugnette così possono asciugarsi e essere pronti all’uso
• Appendete sopra al lavandino una luce ricaricabile (o installate un faretto)
• Se come me usate l’asse per lavare a mano o pretrattare i capi prima di metterli in lavatrice, prevedete uno spazio dove infilarla, io la metto tra lavatrice e mobile lavandino
• Se in un piccolo spazio mettete un mobile con ante assicuratevi che si aprano a 180°, come quelle della mia scarpiera.

I’ve only had the dryer for a few years, but now I can not live without, I use the wall mounted drying rack for those clothes I don’t put in the dryer.

Ikea’s Hyllis shelf is perfect for keeping detergents and houses the laundry basket. The vertical freezer couldn’t fit in any other room, and I keep trays, buckets and baskets on it.

The big shoe rack (Colavena like the sink) was absolutely essential with a husband with n°45 foot and two children who are catching him up quickly. Above the shoe rack I keep two boxes with the shoes of the eldest son that I save until the minor arrives at the right size. The small shoe rack instead houses the shoes we are using every day, it is here that we put them st the end of the day, to exchange them with slippers. I think shoes have absolutely to be kept all together and near a window.

On the higher shelves I keep things that serve rarely like vacuum bags, floor wax, and higher there’s the box for furniture and household appliances spare parts.

Three hanger points are also very useful for my husband who uses the laundry as a dressing room for work clothes.

I can give you some specific suggestions:

• Keep a container with powdered detergent next to the washing machine: I put it in that plastic basket hanging on the wall above the switch
• Hang on top of the sink a holder for rags and sponges so they can dry and be ready to use
• Hang a rechargeable light over the sink (or install a spotlight)
• If like me , you use the board to wash by hand or pre-treat the clothes before putting them in the washing machine, you foresee a space to put it, I put it between the washing machine and the sink cabinet
• If you put a cabinet with doors in a small space make sure that they open to 180, like my closed shoe rack.
